Pernille has had a devoted yoga practice for over 20 years. Her gateway into yoga was dance—something she has done ever since she was a child.
She has worked professionally as a dancer, teacher, and choreographer on the international dance scene since she was 20. But her encounter with yoga felt like a homecoming, where all the pieces fell into place. The connection on a more holistic level awakened a new perspective on life and a new curiosity about it.
For the past 20 years, Pernille has primarily made a living by sharing and communicating her experiences from her spiritual journey. In 2006, she helped start Puro Yoga together with, among others, her teacher Alexander Medin. In 2009, she met her spiritual guide Henrik Flørnes, who has also had a great influence on her process of integration. Today, Puro Yoga is one of the country’s most established and recognized yoga schools. In 2018, Pernille took over as head teacher at Puro when Alexander moved to the mountains. In 2023, she also took over the entire operation after the outstanding work of Astrid Riddervold, who had steered the ship for 16 years. Pernille can still most often be found in the shala, where she feels most at home.
Pernille’s teaching of yoga is holistic, authentic, and characterized by integrated understanding and experience.
“The body is my tool for opening up to life.”
